Craigleith Runs

Canyon was cut in 1964 and is long and gently winding. It’s lower than the higher parts of the mountain on each side like a canyon and therefore how it gets its name. Originally it was known split into “Upper Canyon” and “Lower Canyon.” It’s open upper section or bowl, below the top of the Funnel Express Chair, is used for the annual Gluhwein.  A wooden bridge for the original “T-Bar” lift (see Birches) crossed the upper section just below the bowl. Variations in the spacing of the tree line in this area show to this day where the T-bar crossed at the bridge.
